For years, WEAVERCOOKE has successfully embraced the Lean philosophy, ensuring our projects are built within the anticipated schedule, delivered at the highest quality and with lower costs incurred during the building process. Lean Construction methods focus on establishing a respect and relationship-oriented production management approach to project delivery—our standard way of doing business since 1939. Its primary goals are maximizing value and minimizing costs involved during the course of design and construction.

The Process Every one of our projects kicks off with a collaborative session to propose a model for defining customer value and how lean practices can optimize the project plan. Our purpose during construction is to facilitate conversations with owners, architects and trade contractors to collect their input and feedback for the most efficient project delivery. Our Lean evolution has brought us to adopt the Lean community’s Last Planner System (TM Lean Construction Institute) as our standard platform for project delivery, which allows us to identify and eliminate waste caused by non-value-added activities. We have found this approach provides the best experience to both our clients and extended team of trades. In our journey towards continuous improvement, we are proud to now have 34 members of our operations staff who have earned AGC’s CM- Lean designation.
