"It is a testament to our satisfaction with Weaver Cooke on Seahawk Village and Seahawk Landing that we selected them to serve as Construction Manager for Seahawk Crossing as well."

Ed Shuford,
UNCW Facilities,
Director of Project Management.
Weaver Cooke was selected to provide preconstruction and construction services for Seahawk Crossing, a new 256,000 square foot privatized student housing development on the campus of UNC Wilmington. The project consists of four 3-story student residence halls with semi-suite style housing along with meeting spaces, common areas, and mail facilities. The facilities provide an additional 662 beds for housing sophomores, and 5 resident advisor beds.

Seahawk Crossing was designed and constructed following the environmental-friendly construction methods proposed by the U.S. Green Building Council and is expected to achieve LEED certification. Green features include three Underground Stormwater Infiltration Basins and a Underground Stormwater Retention Vault.

The project was built adjacent to a 4-story parking deck for which Weaver Cooke served as the Owner’s Construction Manager Agent.

Seahawk Crossing represents the third phase of the university’s housing plan. Weaver Cooke, along with our architectural partner, Clark Nexsen, successfully designed and constructed the first two phases: Seahawk Village and Seahawk Landing.
