"The workmanship of all the trades was held to the high standards befitting a project of this caliber; the attention to every detail was handled with all manner of expertise, and, most importantly, given the nature of restoration work, there was a prompt solution for every unforeseen issue. This is all due to teamwork and to a supervisory staff that is unparalleled. I would want Weaver Cooke on my team for every job. They are what construction is supposed to be!"

David L. Rogers, Rogers & Associates, Inc.
Developer
The 6-story Grove Arcade was originally constructed in 1929 as a retail arcade with offices above and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. WEAVERCOOKE was selected to provide preconstruction and construction services to renovate the 270,000 square foot building for a public market, office space, and 47 luxury condominiums.

The building is so full of architectural details that nothing less than a painstaking effort to each and every detail was required in order to achieve the expected results. Special care was taken throughout the construction phase to not damage any of the existing intricate features of the building.

The Grove Arcade Historic Renovation project was awarded numerous accolades including:

2003 Pinnacle Award for Best Building Construction Project in North and South Carolina - Carolinas Associated General Contractors
The Griffin Award - Preservation Society of Asheville and Buncombe County
AIA Honor Award - North Carolina Chapter of the AIA
Star Award - Construction Professionals Network of North Carolina
